My husband and I had always wanted a big family, but after two high-risk hospital births, followed by NICU stays, I had a lot of depression over not having the delivery and bonding experiences I had hoped for, and it made me question whether I had the emotional strength to go through that again. When we found out we were expecting out third child and that there were no complications this time, I was eager to try something different. Puget Sound Birth Center had been recommended to me by several friends and family members and, thanks to them, I was finally able to have the low-stress and low-intervention pregnancy and birth I had always wanted. The midwives made me feel safe and heard. I really appreciated how they took time to explain everything to me. Even though it was my third pregnancy, they taught me things about my body and my baby that I had never learned at the hospital.
Several years later we returned for the birth of our fourth baby. It was such a joy to have our older children be able to participate in the process. They came with us to appointments and chose to join us for the delivery of their baby brother. The staff made them feel welcome, answered all of their questions and even let my oldest son cut the umbilical cord. Being able to do this together as a family was such a redemptive and triumphant experience. I am so thankful for the midwives and staff at Puget Sound Birth Center for the way they showed us respect, educated us, and provided compassionate care to me and my family.

We had our baby girl at Puget Sound Birth Center during covid and our original hospital that I delivered my other children at turned into a covid unit. Once I found out midwives took state insurance I was so excited! I asked around and got lots of referrals here!
Every single one of the midwives and office staff were so great!
I recommend them to this day because of my experience. They got my hubby involved into helping me into different positions. After I delivered her I got the shakes and passed out. They immediately got into action and when I woke up they made sure I was safe to go. Daddy got to hold her skin to skin and we are so thankful for our experience here.
The Puget Sound Birth Center provides a peaceful haven for birthing mothers. I have birthed my three babies there, who are no longer babies. The entire birthing team provide truly client centred care empowering each mother to find her voice. It changed my own perspective and care as a healthcare practitioner. I will forever be grateful.

" The most beautiful thing to experience, welcoming your baby into the world in warm water surrounded by the best midwife & family ever. Thank you Courtney for being the most beautiful midwife on earth, and Heather for your words. We are so thankful. "
Ty!! ♥️
I’ve had two magical births at the Kirkland PSBC location. Room 3 will forever be so special to my family and I! From the front desk, midwives, and assistants, I’ve always felt heard and cared for. I truly enjoyed my births and couldn’t ask for anything better. I’m thankful for the knowledge and support of everyone at PSBC.

“When we were planning to start our family, we looked at numerous options for prenatal and birthing of our child. We chose the Puget Sound Birth Center, and had an amazing experience with them! My appointments were made at times that were convenient for me while I was still working, and my husband was able to attend as well. The facility was beautiful with a very homelike and comforting atmosphere and decor. My care team (Heather and Jessica) were very thorough, and made sure that all my needs were met and questions answered. The day of our birth was incredible; all went smoothly and I felt very comfortable, knowing that I was being monitored closely and each situation was handled so well. When are family grows and we have our second child I will return to PSBC!”
