My path to midwifery has been a circuitous one but all along I wanted to be of service to my community. My first “real” job as a young teen was performing intakes for chiropractic patients at my mother’s office. The hustle and bustle of a clinic day was thrilling and I felt inspired hearing each person’s story.
I grew up in the desert of Eastern Washington and moved to Seattle at 18.
Interested in birth work, I joined the Volunteer Doula program at the University of Washington Medical Center back in 2012 and attended my first birth there. I hadn’t met the person in labor before, but I trusted my intuition and the body’s innate wisdom. This experience became my foundation for birth work, and eventually, I ran the program. Supporting people I’d just met during such a transformative time was a profound privilege.
By attending out-of-hospital births alongside midwives deepened my experience, and I realized I’d found my North Star. I went on to earn my Master of Science in Midwifery at Bastyr University. Since then, I have been a fierce advocate for clients, worked for Public Health, and provided essential health care across diverse communities.
I’ve had the honor of welcoming more than 350 babies and cared for even more families during their pregnancy and postpartum. I am grateful to be providing care with Eastside Midwives at Puget Sound Birth Center. I strive to offer a calming, grounded presence that fosters a sense of support and empowerment for clients throughout their journeys.
When I’m not practicing midwifery, I enjoy rock climbing, dance, experimenting in the kitchen, and exploring the outdoors with loved ones.
